Newberry (Redlands) Meetinghouse & Cemetery
As Quakers moved west of the Susquehanna River, their numbers grew large and they sought to establish a Meeting at Newberrytown, York County, under the care of Sadsbury Meeting in Eastern Lancaster County in 1738. A year later, it was granted preparative status, with members meeting in various homes until the construction of a log meetinghouse was completed in 1745. The log structure was replaced by a stone building in 1792. Later, in 1811, a new meetinghouse was built two miles west of Newberrytown and was called Redlands. Newberry (Redlands) Meetinghouse celebrated its 200th birthday in August, 2011.
Redlands is located on Route 382 between Wellsville and York in Pennsylvania There is no physical address, but Friends coming from Route 15 should take Route 74 south to Route 177 and then turn right onto Route 382 south.

Pre-season Cleanup 2022
Once again, Ffriends swept and polished floors and benches, wiped cobwebs from windowsills, and generally made the meeting house presentable for meeting on First Days. Photos again tell the story of the meeting house and the care Ffriends give to this beautiful place.
