Our Needs
Over the past year Menallen’s Properties Committee has done assessments of the needs of our three meetinghouses (Huntington, Menallen and Newberry) and five cemeteries.  Some of this has been done with the assistance of a specialized preservation architect.  The  immediate needs run anywhere from re-pointing stone walls to reinforcing floor joists to removing trees endangering building foundations to repairing or putting up new graveyard fencing.  The list seems endless and initial cost estimates could run over $100,000.

It is with this goal in mind,  Menallen Monthly Meeting is now beginning a three-year funding campaign. Our long-term goal is to raise $550,000. The first $100,000 would be earmarked towards the immediate needs of preserving the three historic meetinghouses, and cemeteries entrusted to thecare of Menallen as outlined above.

The additional $450,000 raised will be put into a permanent reserve fund account with income from the account to be used for ongoing requirements of the meetinghouses and cemeteries.  Funds from the reserve may also be used to make improvements to these properties, as determined by the membership.  Menallen Meeting will administer this permanent reserve with advice from a financial institution with expertise in non-profit fiduciary care.
Your help is respectfully requested and your support of this fundingcampaign is tax deductible. Contributions, pledges or bequests should be sent to:
